Privacy

• Your email address, so we can send your sign-in links, reminders for events you favorite, and a note when something you reported or suggested has been handled.
• Your home address, and the map point and rough area we work out from it. We use these to work out drive times and which places and events are near you.
• Birth years of household members, if you add them.
• Your favorites, visit statuses (want to go, visited, not interested), saved searches (including any search words you saved), and reminders.
• Reports and suggestions you send us.
• Which pages and buttons you use (for example “Show me another” or “Get directions”), so we can learn what's useful. Each record holds only your household, the action, which place or event it was, and the time.

• The site and its database run on a server we rent from Hetzner, a hosting company. Hetzner also keeps daily backup copies of that server for a week.
• When you sign up, your address is sent to the US Census Bureau's free address lookup, to find its map point.
• Our emails (sign-in links, reminders, thank-you notes, and the reports and suggestions you send us) are delivered through our email service, Resend, which keeps its own delivery records.
• “Get directions” opens Google Maps with the place's address (not yours), only when you tap it.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.

Our usage records don't include IP addresses, browser details, or what you type. There are no ads and no trackers. We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in.

Only the person who runs Maine Outings (plus the services above, for the one job each does). Usage is looked at only as totals (for example, how many families used a feature this week), never as one family's activity.

Usage records are deleted after 180 days. Everything else stays until you ask us to delete your account. Our database backups are kept for about two weeks.

Email hello@maineoutings.com from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete your household and everything linked to it, including any reports and suggestions you sent and our email copies of them. Backups roll off within about two weeks, so after that nothing of yours remains.
